Christ's College has a collection of original Coptic manuscripts, which students and researchers are welcome to consult by prior arrangement with the College. Most items in this collection were left to the College by the diplomat, writer and librarian Sir Stephen Gaselee (1882-1943). Gaselee served as Keeper of the Papers at the Foreign Office for over twenty years, and accrued a vast personal collection of writings which he generously donated to a number of Cambridge institutions.
